My co-workers had a recent disagreement about APA format for citation. One thought that the information was general knowledge (like apples are fruit) and didn't need a citation, whereas the other thought that it did neet a citation. The information was for a newsletter that was going out to the medical providers who know about these diseases and why they happen (theoretically, at least). They were assertive and confronting each other and it got pretty loud. I left for a home visit because I couldn't take the noise anymore, honestly.

The statement was "Lead is known to cause brain damage".

So what do you think? Does it need to be cited? At what level does a co-worker get an opinion that one co-worker has to put together for the unit?
